With over 30 releases under his belt, Pacso delivers ‘The Fast Lane EP’ on Low Down Deep Recordings, undoubtedly solidifying himself in the upper echelon of DNB super producers. Heating things up, ‘We Make Weapons’ is ready to burn up your speaker bins or headphones….take your pick. The intro synth has a nice nostalgic feel with a sharp edge which thoroughly sets the tone for the especially monstrous bassline. Pacso wastes no time switching up the octaves and giving us plenty of variety and renditions of this colossal beast. Tasty drums aplenty, he couldn’t have picked a better tune to get things started.
Next up, start your engines because ‘Go’ is here to inspire that insatiable urge to put the pedal to the metal. Up and down, in and out, the soundscapes on this tune soar as Pacso shows us that his mastering and composition techniques are a force to be reckoned with.
As if the first two cuts on the EP haven’t done enough damage, in comes the title track, ‘Fast Lane’. We see Pacso collaborating with the beautiful, talented & highly sought-after vocalist, Alicia King. This one is a stepper for the masses. Find us a DNB head that doesn’t go mad when this one drops and we’ll find you 100 that do. As one of the vocal cuts suggests, this tune is here to “keep it moving”. Its groovy, straightforward bassline commands your utmost attention, while the lovely drums and atmospheres add the perfect balance.
Getting into the second half, ‘Another World’ commences with an intro synth incredibly reminiscent of that late 90’s/early 2000’s dark side sound. Morphing into all things Low Down Deep following the intro, calling this tune “gully” would be an understatement. Deep, bad, big, bashy & nasty is what this bad boy tune is all about.
Closing out the effort, Turno unleashes his remix of the legendary, ‘Release The Hounds’. While the original was an indisputable roller with the ultimate presence, Turno takes a different approach and unleashes an absolute rave destroyer!!! While he’s maintained plenty of integrity from the original, Turno has constructed a bassline so heavy that you’re left asking yourself if our current technology even has the ability to make something any weightier than this. His contribution to the EP is a fine and respectable conclusion to a brilliant body of work that Pacso has crafted for us to enjoy. The Fast Lane awaits you!
